I'm certain that you have heard this line before: “Your roof is the first line of defense against water” – Right?

Well it’s true! And when you select a company to do your roof, you want to make sure that it’s done correctly. I tell all of my customers that, “anyone can put down a shingle and drive a nail through it! But the other 75% of a good roof installation is the attention to the the flashing, ventilation, and underlay materials”. At Spectrum Construction, we give one of the most comprehensive roof evaluations in the industry. We check for:

• Ventilation both at the ridge and the eaves
• Flashing both counter and step
• Insulation compaction
• Rotted wood
• Damaged and deteriorated masonry at or around a wall or a chimney that intersects a roof area

We use Premium shingles which are backed by strong manufacturers warranties. Most roofing companies will try to skimp on underlay materials to save money! We use only the best flashing, drip edge, and underlay materials such as:

• 1-1/2˝ D- style aluminum wide face drip edge
• Premium ice and water shield applied 6' back from all eaves edges and in all valleys
• Premium underlayment that allows air to pass between the back of the shingles and the roof deck so that they do not bind
• Full 8˝ x 8˝ aluminum step flashing cards
• Edge vent™ when little or no overhangs exist
• Aluminum base EPDM rubber boot pipe flashings
• Premium Ridge ventilation

You might ask, what’s the difference between these materials and the less expensive materials that most of the other companies use? The full potential of your roof warranty! That’s what! These things are what separate Spectrum Construction from the competition.
